| A country programme of the LWF/Department for World Service, The Lutheran World Federation Nepal (LWF Nepal) has been working with marginalized and disadvantaged communities for the past 24 years in the areas of relief and rehabilitation, advocacy and networking, empowerment and organizational development. In these endeavours, LWF Nepal cooperates within its networks that include ecumenical, government and non-government, and community-based partner organisations.
Established in 1984, LWF Nepal is a leading international INGO active in both development and humanitarian works. Originally engaged in sectoral development, then community development projects, LWF Nepal made a major switch in 1997 to empowerment projects. It considers right-based approach as the key to development process. |

Re - Vacancy Announcement
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal invites application from suitable Nepalese candidates for the position of Communication Officer (grade 8 ) for its Country Office, based in Kathmandu with frequent field visit. The incumbent will be responsible for strengthening LWF Nepal?s internal and external communication function, enhancing communication system and institutional capacity and ensuring quality of organizational publications.
Required qualifications and competencies:
? Bachelor degree in related field with four years or Masters degree with three years of relevant work experience
? Capacity to plan, develop and implement communication strategies
? Very good writing and editing skills in the areas such as feature stories, analysis, interviews and website postings. Sound knowledge of print and electronic media work
? Good knowledge of photography, layout designing, archiving and good team player
? Translation and interpretation skills in English and Nepali
? Experience in strengthening relations, mainly with media and ecumenical alliances
? Very good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Photoshop and PowerPoint
The basic monthly salary for the position is Rs. 30,306.
